Daddy - Poem by Jana Courville

hurting myself to the point as to where
I know I'm not safe
with myself or out of bounds
you say that you love me
as you hold me close and cry
while I shut my eyes
I only wish to die
but from all that we've been through
up to this point today
I dont really believe in you
or listen to what you have to say
I've been lost without you for so long
hating myself, blaming myself
for something you did wrong
when now all I need to do
to see the truth behind the lies
is to open up my eyes
and dropp the knife
this pain has cut through me
for too long now I can say
but away from you
I know that I will always
find a better day
