Dandelion Dreams Poem by Richard D Remler

Dandelion Dreams

...........................

I ran through fields
Still wet from rain,
And climbed a tree
To reach my sky -
Then spied a
Wild Candy Cane
As sweet as a
Blueberry Pie.

My eyes are filled
With wonder,
To my heart's
'Carpe diem.'
As though I've jumped
With arms unfolded,
And flew into
A rising dream.

I've sailed the
Seven Seas,
And found I've
So far still
To go,
Always fighting
To appease
That me
I did not
Want to know.

I breathed in
The morning's
Wonder,
With life's
Intoxicating
Rush...
And whispered
She is
Beautiful
Just to see
Her blush.

The morning
Doves called
Out to me
With laughter
In their song,
And I ran
Through their
Dandelion clouds
Just to tag
Along.

'Keep your sense
Of Wonder, '
I heard
Them softly say.
'For what is a life
Without it? '
And so they gently
Flew away -

And in her
Glowing laughter,
I could hear
The Morning sigh-
'Life is ever
Beautiful'
In her lullaby.

As ribbons
Raced across
The blue and scarlet
Of my sky,
And I could hear
Them whistle by,
All without
A wonder why...

And I fell into
The fallen leaves
Underneath a
Dogwood Tree,
And lingered there
In silence,
To see if it
Noticed me.

I climbed
The hill at
Archer's Peak,
Where the Hazelnut's
Grow wild,
And when they
Would not let
Me climb,
I think I
Only smiled.

And then I fell
Into the open sky.
And drifted in the
Summer breeze,
Oh so very, very
High,
And into
Dandelion Seas,
Just high enough
To touch a star
That wandered
Ever near.
Until I heard
My Mother's voice,
As she whispered,
'Morning's here.'
