Dark Truths 03 Poem by Unnikrishnan Sivasankara Menon

Dark Truths 03

Rating: 5.0

The sun is going away downcast
Having failed to alleviate darkness
And will be back again, in vain.

He thinks he is Robert Bruce.
Failed.

Very interesting comparison. Sun is the universal symbol of light and hope and the story of Robert Bruce is also so inspiring.

Today, I find hardly any place for in our lives, with the world’s two largest democracies ruled by maniacs.... who do no care for the citizens of their own countries. Who promote calumny rather than peace and compassion and confidence.. where are we heading to?

Interesting. Despair and darkness are as eternal as sun! Better accept it!

Darkness is the eternal truth. We cling on to little drops of light to build our lives. And cringe sun sets. But the law is that sun has to set on everything, nothing can stop him. Better we get a sunset clause embedded in our life’s MOU.

Cynical but realistic. Isn't life a rotation of the same acts.

Yes, Nosheen, life is like that.. And one has to try being cynical, to be able to live on..smile at oneself.... We recount stories of Robert Bruce’s who succeeded. But, for every Bruce has succeeded, there are a billion unnikrishnans who failed. No cynicism in that.
