Davy Jones Locker Poem by Bill Cantrell

Davy Jones Locker

Rating: 5.0

Love and tears, life and death
Emotions on the oceans breath
Sailors lay upon its sandy floor

Back and forth the ocean churns,
The tides won't let them rest
Still, the hungry waters wanting more

Loved ones flashed before their eyes
With tears, a prayer they yelled
Into the cold and deep they did descend

Their last words have been gathered
And placed inside a shell
Hear their voice within the eerie wind

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
An older poem I wrote, I remember as a child being told if I held a shell to my ear, I would be able to hear the ocean, I thought that was a childhood wonder so I put it into poetry

Emotion lives in between love and tear and life and death. Loved ones live before eyes of emotion. A child hears the voice entirely within life's breath. An excellent poem is beautifully penned.10
