A Feminist writer, but first of all: one who is against not equally be treated: white and black in the USA in her time. Today IF she is still alive she would have grown with the societal changings and surroundings. She was just on the brink of her death when Barack Obama was elected as the first black president of the USAl This brevity is full of metaphors, all against her not being treated equally, she said that with metaphors in her poems. She is very aware of being a woman, like how a woman menstruates and such more. She had won many many honourable prizes and awards for her literary achievements. That is truly magnificent.
