Looking out my bay window
On a cold Utah day,
Fresh snow covering the ground.
Thinking about December
And what it should mean,
A season of love,
A season of joy,
A celebration of life.
But, for many,
A season of pain,
Divorces here,
Divorces there,
Divorces everywhere,
Shattered homes,
Broken lives.
A sad ongoing cycle,
I'll love you today,
But, I'll hate you tomorrow.
(cont.) 2. AND saying I'm sorry, even if not completely meant OR deserved, can do wonders sometimes to 'keep things going'. so, i think this poem is too pessimistic and your December Wish is too optimistic. ;) bri
1. i've had 3 divorces and they weren't the 'end of the world' for anyone i know of. they were liberating for most people involved, ...though my 3rd wife (she divorced me) regretted her decision later. but, sure, some divorces may be worse than staying married. i like marriage 'cause it sort of keeps me or 'her' from giving up too easily. I've always thought red and green were Christmas colors. I learn something new every day!
Yeah social sad episodes among families can dampen festive seasons as you describe in a fine realistic poetic way. Hoping it's a season of family love and joy for you sir so the blues are in the poem eloquence only. Kudos. Soo nice to read from your inking again pleez do comment/review my newest poem too, titled, Dream Holiday places. And merry Xmas in advance.

I appreciated very much getting your Christmas card. As you say, Christmas can be a sad time for some people.
