Definitions Poem by Elizabeth Grace

Definitions

You don't define me
I make up every part
every parcel of how I am
and who I am to be

You smear on make up
and hide your face
an actor on the world stage
You don't define me

You remind me
of who I used to be
back when I was weak

Do you remember
how I thought I couldn't live
without you?
You don't define me

I am stronger alone
than I ever was
with you as my faulty foundation

You aren't strong enough to break me,
even though you dug your way into my heart
and tore yourself out

You don't define me
I get to define myself
Starting now, my life
is mine to realize

My life is a better place
for the loss of you
and although I will always remember you
you no longer define me

I wrote something of the same title! Great minds think alike, perhaps? I like yours better though, you've done amazingly here. Great writing, as expected.
