Eternal Dance Poem by Elizabeth Grace

Eternal Dance

Rating: 5.0

The stars are dancing,
night has come, draped in velvet.
Distant drops of golden light are
the buttons of her gown.
Crickets chirp a minuet
as the stars are dancing.

Twirling in heaven-bound eternity,
infinity stretches out,
collapses into nothing more
than a daydream seen in passing clouds.
Ethereal music resounds on high
as the stars are dancing.

Hearts are breaking,
hearts can mend.
Each breath taken
is released.
Peace.
Darkness comes with the night,
and the stars are dancing.

Rain is falling now,
but clouds pass with a breath.
It seems so dark,
but it is almost dawn.
The skies will clear, and then
you can see the stars dancing.

Ocean gives way to ocean.
Night begins to slowly unbutton her gown,
deepest velvet with glittering gold,
and beneath is revealed
the light fabric of day,
as, in the distance,
the stars dance away.
