Demonstrative Christians Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Demonstrative Christians

Do I have the right to be angry?
When taunted purposely,
By those taught from birth...
The color and hue of one's skin,
Depicts them as worthless commodities.
And those hypocritical,
Self righteous and colorless...
Are blessed to express their evils.
Done to navigate day and night.
For the purpose to use my anger,
To incite an igniting of demons to appear.
Barking like savages.
Trained to attack wherever I am at.

Do I have the right to be angry?
Yes.
Would it be wrong to defend myself,
When alone and attacked by a pack of cowards.
Armed with weapons and given approval,
To make excuses as they have done historically.
Claiming me to be their enemy.
As they prove their mentalities are destructive.

Either way...
Whatever decision I may make to protect myself,
There will still be savages on the prowl.
Whether dressed in a suit.
Or on a horse under a sheet.
Claiming me to be the beast and uncivilized.
And themselves?
Demonstrative Christians!
