I cannot see ahead of me
The way before me is dark
My vision is dim and bleak
The cloud around me thick
The fog surrounds me daily
With this suffocating smoke
The urging of death looms
With a beckoning promise
To arrest the chaos within
The unbearable turbulence
To lure me to a precipice
And a longing for release
But He had wedged me
About family and friends
Beloved, kind and caring
Knitting my heart to theirs
To urge me to keep afloat
And above these afflictions
To weather the stormy gales
The seasoning of every child
