Disabled Spider Poem by Jayatissa K. Liyanage

Disabled Spider

Rating: 5.0

You remind me of our war-heroes
who lost their limbs, fighting terrorism
You remind me of a great French warrior
Napoleon, who was inspired, to war
by one from your clan, in the past

You remind me of a pauper on clutches
begging daily meal, on the public road
and you remind me of an insatiable eater
one legged, on wheel-chair, in despair
diabetes having claimed the other

Tell me, my dear eight-footer
you couldn't have been any of them
How you became unilaterally legless
I shall listen patiently, please tell me
what really happened....?

Nice work and really nice to read. It's amazing how much life can overcome.
