Disturbing Signs Of The Times Poem by Walterrean Salley

Disturbing Signs Of The Times

Rating: 3.3

Fathomless the pain
In the wake of life's duress-
Amidst all the hurt
And undue brokenness.

Fires, storms, massacres
The threat of nuclear war.
Unsettling anomalies,
No explanation for.

Picking up the pieces
And counting the cost
While trying to rationalize
The irrational loss.

‘Tis hard to wrap one's head
‘Round all that's happening,
For the days are uncertain
And the times are deafening.

Foot Note: We're witnessing earthquakes, fires, floods, hurricanes, massacres and wars. All in pandemic proportion. One can't help but wonder: What in the world is going on?

I liked this poem... one suggestion, I would end with the third stanza. -ray

Thanks Ray. I agonized over that very thing. Plan to change it, time permits.

Thank you Ray. Actually, I agonized over that very thing. I plan to change it when I have the time. Be blessed.

It's all happening because we are going against nature. Good one
