Don't Leave Poem by Christina Simmons

Don't Leave

Don't tell me you want to leave
No…no no I won't accept your announcement
Not now… when I need you so badly
I look at you and I see through those eyes
A glimmer of hope for us....Lets make it together

I'm asking you! I'm begging you!
Stay with me! Don't go away! Don't leave me…
Love like ours so strong should last forever
Touching wood though it feels like metal so cold like stone

Chorus
Look me in the eyes and say you'll stay
No… no no I won't accept you're leaving
No… no no don't give me the red card tonight…

Baby just put it away
Come where you belong in the bosom of the family
Rest your dear sweet head.....
Baby I won't take NO for an answer

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this song as a way of dealing with co-dependent love and the hold it can have on an individual, how so very hard it is to finally break away. Letting go.
