Don't look at the sky
SHAKIL AHMED.
Don't look at the sky
Don't behold the stars
Don't kick your heels for a shower of rain
For world has been ruthlessly bleeding
Since the time of its birth.
Flowers don't bloom in the garden
Birds don't perch on the branch of tree
And cascade its melody
Anticipating joy of festive life.
World is begetting
Only ferocious jackals to howl
And treading the innocent people of this land
Much blood has spilt on the occiput of desert
Placid sheep can't take repose
Standing on the silhouette of cooling covert.
Don't stare at the sky
Thunder roars like hungry lion
Blood plummets in the form of rain
World suffers out of severe pain
You swivel your eyes away from sky
Nothing will descend from heaven above
People have to learn and comprehend
The occult gimmick of the art of love.
Dear Shakil, you have touchingly inscribed the darkside of the life from the birth of the world to till today. Still than you have hope to improve ourselves. Your penmanship is so nice that I appreciate. Let it be quote... Don't stare at the sky Thunder roars like hungry lion Blood plummets in the form of rain World suffers out of severe pain You swivel your eyes away from sky Nothing will descend from heaven above People have to learn and comprehend The occult gimmick of the art of love. Thanks for sharing.
Very wisely penned. A wonderful use of words n images to depict a hopeless situation. Reading the history of mankind n looking around us makes us feel as if life is all suffering. But i like how you end it, we have to learn from life rather than just hoping for miracles and we have to improve things ourselves without hoping for divine intervention.10
