Don't Peek Poem by Melanie Emikohe

Don't Peek

Rating: 5.0

Don't peek
I've been working hard
Not to move
Under my cover
Don't be so kind
I don't want to come out

I shed my skin
A few times before
But I wilted
I am not cut out
To withstand
Slight changes of the season

Keep it at a distance
And I could play
In our Disney World
Until our eyes
Shut on their own

I would be good to you
Share all the graces
Of a woman
However you want it to be

What you don't know
Does not count
Truth has too many shades
A lie dabbed with real feelings
Is not totally a lie

So I'm asking you kindly
Don't ask me questions
Don't peek

Not everything in present should rely on the past. Some things are better left untouched. Not pressing shows respect and can be rewarded with love, which is always the best! Put your shovels away and tend to the topsoil! Another great poem Melanie!
