Don'T Whisper To The Night Poem by Darlene Walsh

Don'T Whisper To The Night

It was late and turning gray
And I was lonely that sad day
There was a chill in the air
A touch of magic that is very rare

So I whispered 'hello' to the night
And suddenly my chest fell tight
But I wanted time to sing and play
So I thought kindly of the fairy fey

The night breathed on my face
And it felt like a magical place
I heard the night say 'Do you want to play?
Or do wish it was still day? '

The cool night was so warm and calm
In the starry sky the full moon was gone
It was a beautiful night to make a wish
So I whispered 'Play' and I heard a swish

Swirling and twirling from under the tree
Swarms of lights came fluttering towards me
What I thought were fireflies were now new
Small curves, tiny dresses and nice legs too

Glowing and shimmering they were very pretty
And gorgeous even though they were itty bitty
I couldn't help staring at such a lovely sight
Perfect bow shaped mouths and eyes starry bright

I danced and frolicked in their glowing magic
As they emanated music that was so nostalgic
That was until I saw their mouths opened wide
And revealed pearly rows of sharp teeth inside

Clouds of tiny fey swarmed closer filling the skies
Close to my face I saw an evil gleam in their eyes
Next I felt uncountable teeth sink into my flesh
I saw many tiny marks of red as blood ran fresh

On my arms and legs I watch the red marks grow
As I felt them bite everywhere and not let go
In a short time my clothes were all tattered red
Too fast to feel pain and moments later I was dead

hmm? fairy fey from Urban Dictionary online: Fay Another word for a fairy (faerie, fairie, faery) . The fay (fey, fae) also include elves, sprites, pixies, brownies, mermaids, dryads, imps, nymphs, and other small mythical creatures. and: Fey - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fey Wikipedia Fey means doomed, or fated to die. Fey may also refer to: Fèy, a traditional vodou folk song in Haïti.... Fey (album) , a recording by the singer of the same name. WHO KNEW! ? “chest fell tight” OR “felt tight”? well, you would know better than I, as it is YOUR chest! treasure chest? ? ? “Or do wish it was still day? ' “ ……….. Darla, if you were a Pakistani (no disrespect to Pakistanis of course) and wrote it this way I would say “fine! ”, but wouldn’t you want to put in a “you”? I do! :) “Swirling and twirling from under the tree Swarms of lights came fluttering towards me What I thought were fireflies were now new Small curves, tiny dresses and nice legs too” ……....................................................................................................….. send photos, please; I want to see those fairy curves (and legs): they ARE female, aren’t they? ? great stanza! “That was until I saw their mouths opened wide And revealed pearly rows of sharp teeth inside” …..OK! ! ! ! now to have some BLOOD, as you ……………………………………………………………………………..“promised”! “…..watch the red marks grow” this is intense and making me tense and you have the wrong tense! at least it was interesting and relatively quick! I mean your DEATH! ! ! what a treat…. for fairies AND readers. GREAT RHYMING. TO MyPoemList indeed! thanks Darlene aka Darla bri :)

WOW' Darla... a lovely fascinating write, I felt as if I am in a theater hall being engrossed with the rapid changes from one scene to other which were very neatly framed with your amazing imagination..... a 10 from my side

Woah this began in a magical wistful way then to fireflies and then imagination took a sharp turn into glowing fairies and then took a surprise dark turn to villainous fairy characters. Fascinating! Kudos for the rhyme scheme. Nice to read u again.
