(for Abdelhaq Djellab's 'Landscape, ' posted April 15)
... ... ... ... ...
The quiet excitation of colors is juicy and tremulous...
all the shapes are jostling to be part of the scene...
their patchwork assortment is a neighborhood happening...
in the time-frame of strolling into a grove, it is monumental...
details set each other off as the composition unrolls...
they hang together, but also crumble… even so,
I can join in the onward tumble, without a sense of precarity
relinquishing colors and shapes that fit so well together...
being confident that wonderment awaits around the corner.
