Down A Lane, Into A Grove Poem by Denis Mair

Down A Lane, Into A Grove

... ... ... ... ...

The quiet excitation of colors is juicy and tremulous...

all the shapes are jostling to be part of the scene...

Their patchwork assortment is a neighborhood happening;

within the time-frame of a stroll through the grove, it is monumental.

Details offset each other as this composition unrolls;

they hang together, even as their arrangement crumbles… and yet

I can join in their onward tumble, without a sense of precarity,

relinquishing colors and shapes that fit so well together...

feeling confident of the wonderment that waits around the corner.
