Drama Poem by Paula Glynn

Drama

My life has more ups and downs than,
An episode of Jeremy Kyle,
I've burnt my bridges: I smoke,
I lose connections,
And my breath shortens.

I see the negative,
My glass is half empty,
My heart is scarred,
My attitude threatened,
By more people than I can count,
I am blind in this position:
I am losing perspective and hope,
I am hanging by my own rope.

I reach for the stars,
Only to fall from the galaxy,
I am a failure: a no-hoper,
A fallen angel,
And this life is a non-stop drama,
A never-ending curse,
And no one has sympathy,
No one feels pity,
And no one is a friend.

I am all alone,
My heart has been broken,
And even though I wake with the sun,
My heart feels the darkness,
And I am empty and cold.

I have been abused:
My only crime,
And this is a life where I feel no happiness,
I just do my time,
Waiting for time to somehow stop,
But everyday rolls around,
And everyday I search to be found,
To figure out the puzzle that is my life.
