Eagle's Claim Poem by Mohammad Muzzammil

Eagle's Claim

Above the earth, where winds are free,
A drone hums on mechanically,
Yet in the vastness of the sky,
An ancient shadow hovers nigh.

With piercing eyes and wings outspread,
The eagle soars, its hunger fed,
Not by the flesh it used to seek,
But by the challenge, strange and sleek.

It spies the drone, a foreign bird,
No beating heart, no song is heard,
Yet still, it swoops with primal force,
To intercept this errant course.

In a clash of old and new,
Talons grip the lifeless crew,
Wires snap, and plastic yields,
To nature's power, to the fields.

For in this dance, no match is found,
The drone is brought back to the ground,
And in its fall, a truth is clear,
The sky belongs to those who dare.

The eagle, victor, claims its prize,
While man looks on with humbled eyes,
For all our crafts, our tools, our might,
We're but a spark within the night.
