Earth And Sky - Poem by Ted Christopher

In the flowers and the trees and the brightness of the leaves
In the land and the sea, the earth and the sky.
Reflecting, we are alive

In the birds and the bees and everything that breathes
In the woman and the man, the earth and the sky.
Belonging, we are alive

In the hours and the days and anything that stays
In the heart and the soul, the earth and the sky.
Believing, we are alive

In the summer and the fall and no reasoning now to stall
In the winter and the spring, for these seasons will bring
The sun and the rain; something profane
About the moon and the stars and everything that is ours

Like the earth and like the sky
Revolving, we are alive.
