the great philosopher
Eric Cockrell
opened the dialogue
'the most often used murder
weapon is indifference'
Aaron Johal astute replied
'And second is silent collusion
through cultured morals
despite a nagging conscience! '
Caite Bonham in defense of inaction stated
'A feigned indifference
may be a survival technique.'
Aaron Johal exclaimed
'What at the expense of others
who have had enough
of the false morals? '
the scribe Terence Craddock scribbled
indifference is the seed of death
we may cut off our own hand
to escape the handcuff or chain
which binds our hand
cut off our own foot
to escape the leg iron
grip of steal death trap
cutting into our ankle
but we cannot cut
out our beating heart
with indifference
indifference withers rots
the sacred sanctuary of our soul
in the blood of innocence shed
not cleansed in the heart
of divine empathy compassion
given in the salve of action
to aid heal
provide
for the afflicted
indifference stands inept
frozen inaction consequences
judged by innocent blood slain

Hello Terence This was a deeply profound piece. I enjoyed the quotes which led into your poem and, then your poem was unique and your words worth pondering. I enjoyed, give you my best, Loyd C Taylor, Sr.
