Eighty One Petals Poem by Perdita Young (Hanna Wang)

Eighty One Petals

Spring is not far off
merely eighty
one petals away.

Dec.21th,2016, the Winter Solstice.

春天不远了,
只隔着
八十一朵花瓣。

The longest night of the year, but not the longest wait. There is a kind of solemnity in the expectation, the self-same hope as long as human history.

Closeness of time from winter to spring is very beautifully presented that motivates readers. Title of Haiku is excellent. Measuring distance with eighty-one petals entirely motivates mind. This is excellent poem...10

Thank you so much for the wonderful interpretation of this tiny haiku, Headmaster. Concentrating on beautiful things can make waiting an enjoyable experience.
