Electric Fantasy Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Electric Fantasy

We walked beneath the telephone wires crossing paths backwards and forwards,
Shadows of the lines traced our faces love was felt as the sun revealed what was meant to be seen by the eyes that stared deep into my soul,
She'd laugh as we frolic'd to and fro bouncing from side to side,
I'd grab her hand from time to time she'd pretend not to notice as she'd smile as the sun made her eyes smaller than what they were in the shade,
She tried to reach the top of the telephone pole knowing she was too small,
The bodies our shadows casted made it easier for her to reach the top of the pole as at times we became one,
Sharing our arms, our legs, the smiles that constantly appeared on the face our shadows casted,
The concrete beneath our feet kept us company besides the cars and the trucks that passed,
My head no longer had a reason to hurt my heart no longer had a purpose to fill empty,
Our feet swerved following the trail of each others.
A fantasy I didn't want to leave behind as I totally forgot the phone was on my ear
