Love is an empty word,
Told to those who need to hear it,
And chased after, by those who are nowhere near it.
People wonder why I’m so cynically wired,
Where my thoughts run awry,
And I wake from bed already tired.
Dreading the thoughts of you in my memory,
Which never left,
Me; but rather, remind me of my sanity’s theft.
I never loved anyone,
Mainly because the pursuit was enough to keep me soundly subdued.
And keep my dogged pursuit solely on you.
Love is an empty word,
Told to those who need to hear it,
And chased after, by those who are nowhere near it.
Then there’s me,
Whose pursuit is chronicled on the elliptical of a treadmill,
And whose frivolous letters on vine to the person significant of mine,
Don’t end in love, but rather, in the devil’s grasp of the intricate web of love’s lies.
This is one of my favorites by now....You have voiced your thoughts excellently....I can relate to this....Keep writting...
An eloquent and descriptive piece...excellent choice of vocabulary and written in a very unique voice that I have never quite read the likes of. I enjoyed reading this, thanks for sharing :) -Leslie
