Endeavors futile. Poem by Nabakishore Dash

Endeavors futile.

Rating: 3.4

Straightening the dog's
kinked tail,
ethical techniques
utterly fail.

Holding a mirror
in front of a blind
is meaning less,
s/he never can see.

Flood the root
of a nimtree with
gallons of sweetened milk,
It can not give up
Its bitter test.

Trying to ignite
a mound of ash
is impact less even if
drenched with giant ghee drops.

Pleasant, excellent counsels
offered to the heedless
and unreceptive
would be futile, worth less.
Absurd and ego-centric they are,
who never change,
all endeavors flatly fall,
ending in wail,
may be, the only elixir
is the parables and ambrosia
from the Heavens
can twist their arms
to behave and act well.
