Ennui - Poem by Michael Shepherd

sometimes
when I feel like reading
nothing much
but not nothing
just something
I pick up your
gentle fantasies
and start to read
like when the two of you
are sitting in the
dentist's waiting room
making occasional remarks
which you've forgotten
before you said them

The poem is an elegant operational definition of its title. (Report) Reply

    Dear Michael,

This is a fine, tight poem. Well- written and thought provoking.

    Best,

    Hugh
