Even A Moment Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Even A Moment

What do you see when you close
Your eyes and the world slips
Away for a moment?
Are you in another country,
Taking in the sights?
Are you having a good time,
Envisioning life if you decided
To move away, start a new
Chapter?

Do you see a man who's caught
Your eye,
Who winked your direction.
And sat beside you a few minutes
After?
Can you trust him with your secrets,
All the jagged edges the world
Tells you will never come true?

Wandering through the stars barefoot,
Undoing the origami of your heart
If not, am I the one on vacation,
Visiting your dreams for the night?
Is there any room for me,
If I decided to stay a bit longer?

A warm hand that's not afraid
To be beside you in the dark,
One that's not evasive,
That will meet you at the same place,
Same time.

When you close your eyes,
And the world slips away,
Is there room for me in any
Of your dreams,
Even for a moment?
