The clouds were flitting past
They've somewhere else to go
The sun shone proudly
with nothing to hide it's glow.
The breeze blew lazily like
it wanted to sleep some more
But dawn was on its way
and would wait no more.
The birds wake up dreamily
and gradually leave their nests
Flowers smell the morning dew
and lift their droopy heads.
The leaves start fluttering
blushing in the sunshine
I too rise reluctantly and
let the sun kiss my eyes.
I watch this charming scene
each and every morning
And never fail to marvel
at nature's harmony.

So do I, Nidhi! I really like this poem. I love the sleepiness you evoke through the poem, arousing to wakefulness.
Thanks Laurie. Yes, sleepiness and the reluctance to wake up is the main theme here, but the early morning scene is sometimes too beautiful to miss.
