Explaining Truth And Its Reality Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Explaining Truth And Its Reality

People everyday,
Are becoming more afraid.
Of what has entered their homes.
And wherever else,
They have been made to obey...
This upsetting 'thing'.
That has come uninvited.
To sit and stay prolonging the visit.

And seek they do,
Anyone qualified to explain...
Exactly what truth and reality is.
In a way they can accept and understand,
Just how long they can expect...
Them both to remain.
Disrupting to destruct their daily lives.
Once to live 'normally'.
Before that normality returns back again.

"Well...uh...
Which one did you live,
To prefer? "

-You know,
The one that left me...
Entitled to do whatever I chose.
With a doing to please my selfish needs.
That one.-

"Well...
Only time will tell."

-And...
When should we expect,
Time to tell us?
Truth and the reality of it,
Has left so many of us uncomfortable.-

"You are not the only ones,
Floating in that boat."

-You misunderstand.
Most of us live in homes.
Not floating houseboats.
And besides...
Many of us have mortgages underwater.-

"Gee.
I don't know what to say.
Do any of you have scuba gear?
That's all I have to offer."
