Facts Of Life And Death Poem by Cowboy Ron Williams

Facts Of Life And Death

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes at a funeral we meet old friends
that we haven't seen for a long, long time
and won't see again
until the next funeral.

It shouldn't be this way.
Are all of us so busy
that we can't make time
to visit those we love?

In these pandemic times,
perhaps we can't see them in person,
but we can certainly get together
using Zoom or other electronic media!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Inspired by reading one of Smoky Hoss's poems.
My half-senile 80-year-old brain has forgotten which one, but he has a bunch of good ones! Go read a few!

The first stanza of this poem was left as a comment on his poem, and then I decided to expand it into a poem of my own.

Thanks, Smoky.

Very sensible piece of writing. Pandemic or otherwise, it doesn't take much time or energy to contact your friends or dear ones even if it is not feasible to meet physically. Thanks.

Thank you Cowboy; I absolutely love the way you write, it's so graceful, like a Utah sunset in the Grand Staircase... Beauty, the kind that goes to the depths, and stays with you.
