One of my favorite places to view the world
Is from the seat of a moving window.
While some things are hard to grasp
This perspective is everlasting.
The things that refuse, the things
That take time to see.
God works on us in different ways.
No matter the season.
Sometimes it takes a bit longer to see
The change.
Some trips are longer than most.
Admiring the seat by a moving window.
But really the window isn't moving at
all.
Not by itself.
Maybe what we take as protest in this
stoic refusal
To change,
Really isn't refusal at all.
Circling the same streets and blocks
we've grown accustom to seeing.
A retrospective to the first time we took
Our seat.
It is in this same way that I admit to
having
Fallen in love with you.
First I am green, then I am lit yellow
Before fire red in my admiration.
By the time I brown in maturity.
I have circled the same streets and
blocks
Where you've walked. Admiring the
change.
Merely green to everything around me.
Now I hopelessly search for you
everywhere
Fall, fastly approaching
