very evocative. Not only family partition, it reminds of India-Pakistan partition as well. Those that went to Pak from India, I am sure were not so sure, and those Hundus that came here, it must not have been so easy to depart from their birth-land.
Absolutely. My father and other members of family left everything behind at partition and migrated to the mainland to start life afresh. People of older generation still have fond memories of the land left behind. Thanks for this feedback, Sir.
Meaningful expression. Mother to part, how and whereto? Bhagavatha Purana narrates an incidence where the elder brothers 'donate' their aged father to the younger one, as a portion of wealth partitioned. 10+

Like the two lines poem of Ezra Pound, " The Metro Station" , these two lines convey the plight of aged parents and the unsympathetic attitude of the sons and daughters towards the old parents. Excellent.
