Farewell Godmom Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Farewell Godmom

Rating: 4.5

Didn't cry for you
But heart was broken
Held back swollen tears
Manly stupidity

All around lost me
Your humanity
Scared to such damn death
I was imprisoned

Couldn't sleep throughout night
Nightmares of death in sight
Your precious heart my light
When death beckons tonight

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Some people don't have a mother. I was lucky to have one. And a Godmother whom was like a second mom to me. RIP.

Dillip, it means so very much to me that you have so positively responded to this poem that is so dear to mine heart. And that you've added it to your favourites. My Godmother was indeed my second mom!

So true about grief for some they show it in different ways. Lovely poem about your Mom.

This poem, expresses fully your feelings of love, pain and lose for this person, you so dearly love. It totally communicates. We feel your hurt, desperation and fear, not having her near. A painful but loving cry, beautifully written and so full of sentiment it really makes the reader inwardly cry.
