Feast For Vinh And Tuan Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan

Feast For Vinh And Tuan

Rating: 5.0

Feast For Vinh And Tuan
(my two grandsons resp.5 and 3 years old)

Sint Maarten is every year a holiday for us.
In history, this Sint Maarten was also known as Martin of Tours,
a saint from the fourth century AD.

My grandsons celebrate it with their parents on 11 November
these two little kids go from door to door
with their self-made lanterns and they sing songs
and with other kids of the neighbourhood
In return, they receive candy or fruit.

it's the fun and adventure to go ringing the bell
sometimes they face a closed door,
then they continue to the next-door
while they are gathering candies and fruit
the kids are guided by a parent
