Filial Tragedy. Poem by Nabakishore Dash

A boy of our state
did engineering in
computer sciences.
All job offers
turned down to
do research in
Artificial intelligence(AI) .

For last five years
was working from home.
Parents were kept
in darkness as to what
he does in Google Chrome.

When asked by parents,
he bypassed the queries.
Replied them every time
not to be in hurry.

Years passed by,
a foreigner girl entered
their home.
His son introduced her
as business partner,
he selected in Chrome.

She used to visit
twice or thrice
in a year.
What transpired between
the girl and the boy,
parents were unaware.

One day he left his
home to procure a Visa.
Told parents that he is
Going to Mumbai for
the particular purpose.

Days passed by,
did not return, one evening
the police informed
his father that the corpse of
his son was found under
the Sing shore suspension
bridge. (The second highest
in Asia in state Sikkim) .
They brought the dead body
from the police for
funeral pyre and rites.

Then started the huge,
distasteful arguments
between wife and husband.
The accusations and
counter accusations put
marriage on the rocks.

The tragedy affected them
very severely.
Their lives were torn asunder,
separation of parents
occured ultimately.

They educated and nurtured
their boy for twenty eight years.
In grief and melancholy,
they are now shedding tears.
