Flattered Connection Poem by Linda I. Weischedel

Flattered Connection

What is the connection that you and I share,
could it be that for one another we truly care?

Could it be the connection that share the same
kind of heart,
is it the tender crush we both had for one another at
the very start,
how about the trusted honesty we have that will not allow
our friendship to part,
how about the surpressed intelligence by which
makes us both wise and truthfully smart.

This connection I see is getting stronger and stronger
within every passing day,
you are my heart's connection, always making me
want to make you smile, laugh, joke around,
just like we were kids going out to play,
I am now your soul's revival,
that let's you want to say,
I love you, please stay,
don't every let your love for me go astray,
if you'll have me in full,
I promise I shall never leave you,
or even have the notion of wanting to go away.
