at far distance a cotton balls
moving across field in unison
about a foot above grassy field
as i get closer i see heads bob
then those long, long skinny legs
they were talking in feather verbs
i stop at roadside for a better view
they don't care am of their admirers
maybe they're thousand of them looking
at me, i am used to seeing one or two
of them in ponds, lakes waiting for fish
this is one is convention of herons
i am so lucky i get a good look at them
