Folded Wings Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Folded Wings

Rating: 5.0

The sun is glowing …
A gentle breeze stirs
In an instant
Delicate splendor
Ceases to flutter
Strong willed wings fold forever

A mother’s strength
Silent in the mist of flurry
Unresponsive to tears
Surrounded by love
Cheeks pale as sirens wail
All efforts to revive sadly fail

Heaven bound…
Leaving behind
Those who grieve
Children and spouse struck numb
With arms raised to the sky
Not ready…to say goodbye
