Food Adulteration. Poem by Nabakishore Dash

Mixing of cheap, inferior quality or non food
substances to our food materials and medicines is a heinous crime of
utmost concern in all parts of our globe.
Prevention of such adulteration is possible
only if officials do their job honestly and the Government is bent upon regular
crack downs and probe.


Defective foetal growth, miscarriage,
birth, impaired physical and mental
development, decreased fecundity, energy and nutrient deficiency, life threatening
diseases like cancer are the evil outcomes
of food adulteration.
Such commerce without morality is a social sin
much more lethal than the effects of
corona as it poses serious health hazards for all generations of humans.

The business of preparing and selling adulterated food continues for years together in collusion with the dishonest officials
and corrupt political system.
The lure of riches and profit by this brutal act
does not spare our saints, sadhus, Gurus
and the ayurvedic system who placard purity as their tall claim.

This gross injustice against the lives of all
is not cumbersome to abolish.
Constant identification of such culpable offenders and stringent actions are the
only measures to finish and demolish.
