Cut the trees
Get rid of the stumps
We need the land to grow our food
We'll build a house and barn
And used the rest of the wood
To make furniture and keep us warm
We toil the land
From spring to autumn
Hoping for a bumper crop
Before we starve in the winter
Don't care if those trees are precious
Don't care for the clean air
We'll drive our F-150's
Polluting because we just don't care
Profoundly sarcastic indictment against a leader who is a loser. Remind you of someone?

Your powerful poem is definitely a wake up call, LeeAnn. Nicely written.
