But you're the best dad in the world
You successfully raised a pretty and fiesty young girl
And another beautiful daughter and handsome son
Even though you were stern and strict sometimes!

You drive us all around town in your car
To take us to exciting foreign countries
You take us here, there and far
For you are a true and spectacular nighttime star
Loyal and helpful and always there.

Encouraging us to do well at school
Comforting us when our classmates made us feel a fool
But we were emotionally strong and brave children
And we followed the school rules doing our homework
Asking for your help when we sometimes felt confused.

Working hard to put food on the table
You got your day job with your impressive science degree
Something to wonder at in amazement, something to see
Changing our whole lives for the better:
With a privileged upbringing that taught us important values.

Every Happy Birthday that comes around
You buy a decadent chocolate birthday cake
With candles that are blown out with a secret wish
And you buy many exciting and appreciated presents
Presents like electrical devices to use in the home.

You helped us properly sort and organize
Our own responsible adult homes
You are a phone call away when we roam
Your nostalgic and comfortable house
Does heal and sort our family problems out.

You've done so much for your family
You even are willing to help with finances
While kindly encouraging us to be responsible
As adults we are fairly and acceptably independent
Knowing we learnt from the best: you dad.

I want the best for you always dad:
A happy and peaceful retirement in your 70's
Where your family is always a phone call away
Your time spent without complicated issues
Knowing you deserve happiness and comfort.
