Forget About That Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Forget About That

It is not up to the ones,
Victimized by lies.
Told on them to be done.
To decide the punishment,
Applied.
When that time to liars come.
Faith kept to keep,
With that way to stay.
Although difficult this may be,
Without temporary visits from anger.
And leftover bitterness to taste.
Know and feel a forgiveness to give it,
Has a way one day to witness and believe...
God eventually does the judging.
To leave no one to question,
Whether the culprits received...
A verdict to accept,
More appropriate those victimized expected.

"Wow!
It's true."

-What's true? -

"That God works to do things,
In the most mysterious of ways."

-And...
Where is this acknowledgement,
To suddenly realize come from? -

"A forgiving and then to let go! "

-Of what? -

"Whatever it is,
That is still reminisced."

-Okay.
But that money you gave to me,
Years ago.
You told me don't think about,
Paying it back.
In fact...
You told me to forget about it.-

"When was this?
I gave you money?
How much was it? "

-So...
What is this,
You forgave.
But still reminisce? -

"Forget about that!
How much did I give you? "
