Four Pearls Inlaid Ornament[22-24] Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Four Pearls Inlaid Ornament[22-24]

22. One's shining truth brings fame. Ignorance insults
others. Illiteracy opens not the eyes
of the learned but blinds them. Education clears
the dark ignorance and gives the eyes of wisdom.

23. The elephant lets the mahout to ride on
though he beats it. The child seeks refuge with mom,
though she beats it. Real friends don't do evil even
if scorned. Never the foes ever live together.

24. A happy face makes the friends good. Love of the wise
makes the assembly shine. A fast moving chariot
gains glory from the charioteer. Good deeds
of the king bring respect to the country.
