Invocation to God
1. The moon resembles the shining face
of Lord Thirumal. The Sun with its
emitting rays likens His wheel. The lotus
burst in wet fields are His beauteous eyes.
The Kayan flower is akin to His graceful chest.
2. Lord Thirumal saved the world from the deluge
by keeping it in His stomache. To humble the pride
of Mapali, He crossed the world in three steps.
Lord Kannan saved the cowherd from the rains
by lifting up the Govardhan hills
and ruined the fort of ‘Chou'.
The Volume of Poetry
3. Don't mock them who are simple.
Don't receive a gift howsoever high
by putting your hand under the hand of the vile.
When the acts of those from the decadent society
hurt you, don't be angry with them. Don't be haste
in saying evil words.
