Freedom...On This Day Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Freedom...On This Day

Rating: 5.0

Let us not lay down
In apathy
With streets covered
In human blood
Let us not stay blinded
To colour of skin
Making race and religion
An undeclared war
Let us not remain deaf
To the sounds of bullets
As our children
Wake up and cry
Let us not smell fear
In the thug's drug haven
Bitches striving to be free
In land of democracy

Let us not say
We are wrong colour
Heaven forbid
We slave for dollar
Let us not say trust in God
When racist cops kill the faith
And we lie down
Ready to die
