Garden Snake Poem by Rob Lamberton

Garden Snake

Rating: 5.0

A simple serpent
Visited the garden mine
Would I take notice
Would I use my garden spade
As it shook upon the vine

A humble serpent
I dare not avert my eyes
Could I get bitten
Could there be garden grave
Or'e I eat the fruit divine

Garden Snake
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

A serpent symbolizes temptation and evil. We must not succumb to its temptation. A thought provoking and wonderful poem with great images. It reminds me of the Garden of Eden.

Just let it be. It's just a visit to test your patience

But if his humbleness and simplicity turn into a disguise, then there could be a garden grave.

'A simple serpent, a humble serpent'. If this serpent is a simple and humble as the speaker said, then he or she shouldn't worry.
