Gated, Isolated And Fenced In Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Gated, Isolated And Fenced In

If it is wanted and wished,
Solutions can be found...
To mend and fix,
Problems existing to correct them.
Eventually,
The right thing will be done.
With the expediting of that to happen.
Without unnecessary disagreements,
Heard to hear from anyone...
Volunteering their recommendations.
To renovate an updating.
What has been outdated.

Long gone needing significant improvement.
If not completely replaced.
Like rust that has begun to crust with age!
Nothing in the future,
Will be valued as an antique.
Appraised as worthy of its keeping.

Unless...
Of course,
Museums become the choice,
For those determined to live their lives...
On exhibit unchanged and displayed.
Gated, isolated and fenced in.
Behind brick walls to defend,
A way of life lived by their ancestors.
