Ghosts Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Ghosts

The sun rises in the morning
Lifting the cover of what the moon
Didn't get at night,
To everything that's left.

We exist,
But not as we did before.
Love and as wild as it can be,
Sometimes is quiet.

The space around me, infinitely
Silent.
Though you fill my thoughts
And I find your laughter there.
Everywhere I look the distance
increasingly grows.

The door doesn't speak.
The walls don't alert me that your
Car is outsider.
Just the silence,
Of what used to be.

Although separate,
We're still here.
Most people don't believe in ghosts.
Or the wild thing's that they do.
I could also pretend.
But eventually, I need to leave the house.
The bills aren't going to pay
Themselves
