Global Hardening - Poem by Sonny Rainshine

A single particle of misunderstanding,
One degree of uncharitable accusation,
a discharge of corruption,
an emission of malice
an icing-over of the globe,
a conflagration of ill-will,
all merge and meld into
a hardening of the globe.

As the earth heats up,
humanity chills.

Suspended inside this ice age of antipathy,
this bleak tundra of rancor,
lies a proposal:
If eons-old glaciers can melt
into placid lakes,
cannot the hearts of men?

Sonny, A beautifully deep work of poetry! ! But, Sonny, have you ever stood along beside a glacier lake and peered into it's depths? It is soooooo clear, one seems to be able to see forever down into it's pristine waters. I think no man or woman could ever be that clean nor clear...even if their hard-shell exteriors did melt. Just pondering on your poem. I do love it. Barbara (Report) Reply

Virtually I am standing and clapping my hands to the honour of this poem, sir. This a particularly nice poem in its appeal to degeneration of humanity...Thank you.
