God Is Jealous Poem by Raj Dronamraju

God Is Jealous

God is jealous
And furious
He is as petty as you or me
Maybe more so

And he doesn't traffic in gender specific pronouns
Holds you so hard to his broad chest you suffocate

This god measures out envy in two's
Makes them sleep in the bottom of the ark
Is content to know they are locked in and under control

God is jealous
And malicious
Gives you tumors and wars
Arbitrary prohibition on who you sleep with

God is easily flattered
Forgives serial killers and tax cheats and anyone who reaches for forgiveness from a sea of crocodile tears
Why do bad things happen to good people? Well, he didn't write that book

God is religion
And you are fooling yourself if you think otherwise
The voice you hear that tells you to do this or that or not do this or that is you
Responsible and plain and with the power not be jealous or petty or hypocritical

I disagree ! Tumors and wars are from the evil not God. Also He looks at a humble and repentant hearts. He recognises therefore those with crocodile tears. I thank you
